Research and testing grid-infrastructure

This infrastructure presents a local cloud platform, virtual machines of which comprise several testing grounds that run on various grid middleware.

One of the most in-demand element of this infrastructure is testing ground on the basis is EMI. It is distributed and consists of grid-sites placed in JINR resources and in resources of Member States (see the picture and the following table)

Testing ground on the basis of EMI middleware has been successfully implemented and is used for the following tasks:

1)    training of users from JINR and Member States to work in EMI environment;
2)    practical training of students from UC and Dubna University to work in the grid-environment;
3)    training of system administrators from JINR and Member States to setup, setting and function test of grid-sites on the basis of EMI middleware;
4)    porting of a number of applications, and development of applied grid-services and tools;
5)    function test of various types of computing elements configured with the help of YAIM utility software, and stamp certification for them;
6)    construction of a number of functional tests for application programming interface in Perl for LFC service.
